How To Follow Embrace The Challenge Across The Atlantic
Race day is almost here!
On 1 September, Embrace The Challenge will leave New York and begin the 3,200 nautical mile race across the North Atlantic to Lorient.
There are more ways than ever to follow Ollie, Liz, Marie and Lincoln from the moment they leave the dock to the moment they arrive back in Europe.

Watch Tomorrow’s Departure Live
The action starts in New York on 1 September.
The fleet will leave Brooklyn in the ceremonial dock-out before sailing past the Statue of Liberty and heading offshore.
Because the course passes through an important marine mammal conservation area, the competitive race start will take place more than 100 nautical miles offshore. That means the boats will spend around 12 hours sailing out to the start area before the racing officially begins.
The Ocean Race will broadcast the New York departure live, with further daily broadcasts from the fleet throughout the crossing.

The Race Ahead
The crossing is expected to take around 7–9 days, with the fleet currently expected into Lorient around 8–9 September.
After months of preparation, this is the first chance to see Embrace The Challenge racing against the IMOCA fleet.
